Our Safety and Policies
As a CASR Part 135 approved General Aviation air transport operator, there are a number of critical components in place to ensure compliance and enhance safety, including:
· A CASA approved Safety Management System (SMS)
· A CASA approved Safety and Quality Manager
· Aircraft operating under CASR Part 42 – we are a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO)
· A CASA approved Continuing Airworthiness Manager who ensures all aircraft maintenance is conducted on time and to the highest standards
· Aircraft maintenance is conducted under CASR Part 145 – we are an Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) with two main maintenance facilities in Darwin and Alice Springs
· A CASA approved Chief Engineer
· Aircrew are trained under our CASA approved Part 141 Training and Checking Organisation
· Human factors training conducted annually for aircrew, engineers and operations staff
Chartair is regularly audited by CASA, our clients (including other airlines and mining companies), and internally by our Safety and Quality Manager.

One of Australia’s leading non-emergency patient transfer companies, based in Sydney. With a fleet of piston, turbine and jet aircraft dedicated to patient transfers, AirMed is a major supplier to NSW Health and other health providers around the country.
Dubbo-based AirLink Airways has been flying remote and regional NSW communities since 1974. Providing scheduled and charter services, AirLink is rapidly growing into a key Government and commercial service provider throughout Western NSW.

Our History
Chartair is one of the longest flying General Aviation companies in Australia with a history stretching back to 1974 with the establishment of Leach Aero Services by Canadian-born engineer Roger Leach in Alice Springs.
Founded in 1974 by aviation icon Roger Leach, Chartair is the Northern Territory’s premier air charter company. With almost 100 employees & 50 aircraft, Chartair can provide tailored aviation services to meet your requirements. With bases in Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine we are strategically placed to cover a significant part of the remote areas of Australia.
Today, Chartair is part of a larger group of aviation companies including the country’s leading aeromedical company, AirMed, based in Sydney & Dubbo-based Air Link.
Our clients have taken us far and wide, and into some of the remotest areas of Australia. Along our way, we have met truly inspirational people, shared stories, made memories and saved lives.
