The aviation industry offers opportunities to enjoy one of the most exciting careers in the world. With its depth, variety and many standard practices, the industry affords prospects almost anywhere in the world, and General Aviation is often the starting point for many people wanting to make a career in this amazing industry.
As one of the largest charter operators in the country, we offer a wide range of opportunities in just about every area of an aviation company.
You are encouraged to send us your resume and cover letter using the website's online forms. Due to the high volume of enquiries, applications via social media and phone enquiries will not be considered. Once you've submitted your application through online forms, our recruitment team will review your application and contact you if you're shortlisted. Thank you, and good luck with your application!
With a variety of aircraft in our fleet from single piston engine Cessna C210 to twin pistons and single turbine C208 Grand Caravans and twin turbine C441 Conquest, Chartair offers a unique opportunity for aspiring pilots. Not only can we provide the progression required for acceptance by the major airlines in terms of hours and aircraft types, but we invest heavily in helping you achieve training and checking qualifications that will make you an even more attractive catch in your later career.
Our focus at Chartair is not to simply help you to be a good pilot but to get you to aspire to becoming a great aviator. Your time at Chartair should be considered an “apprenticeship” – give us three years of your career and we will help you to achieve your very best.
Typically, we promote from within our company ranks, hence the minimum requirements to be considered for an entry level Cessna C210 VFR position is 300 hours, total time. We also look favourably on potential recruits who go out of their way to visit one of our bases in Darwin or Alice Springs.
From time-to-time we will recruit pilots with significantly more experience to satisfy specific contractual requirements we may have.
Without engineers, we wouldn’t be able to fly! Our two hangar facilities in Darwin and Alice Springs make up our Part 145 Approved Maintenance Facility and we are always interested to hear from suitably qualified AME and LAME candidates.
Chartair is a strong supporter of developing apprentices and our current batch of 7 trainees is among the biggest in the General Aviation industry. If you are interested in considering a career in aircraft engineering and would like to get a flavour of the opportunity, please get in touch.
Our Operations Team are the beating heart of our organisation. They know just about every aspect of our operation and are the glue that pulls together all of the constituent components to make a flight successful. Although a stressful environment at times, it is extremely fulfilling and requires talented people with patience, tenacity and the ability to keep multiple balls in the air at any one time.
Whilst vacancies are rare, we welcome contact from people who think they have what it takes to be successful in operations.
All applicants must hold full working rights in Australia and satisfy the security requirements to hold an Aviation Industry Security Card (ASIC).
Chartair is an equal opportunities employer and strongly encourage applications from all parties and especially females and those of Indigenous origin.
